Privacy Policy

Last updated: 18 February 2026 · Effective immediately

🔒 The short version: OnBored collects absolutely no personal data. No accounts, no tracking, no servers. Everything stays on your device and disappears when you close the app.

1. Who We Are

OnBored is developed and published by an independent developer. If you have any questions about this policy, contact us at privacy@onbored.com.

2. What Data We Collect

We collect no personal data whatsoever. OnBored does not require you to create an account, provide an email address, or identify yourself in any way.

The only information that exists within the app is what you voluntarily enter during setup:

This information is stored only in your device's local memory for the duration of your session. It is never transmitted to any server, database, or third party.

3. How the App Works

OnBored uses Bluetooth and WiFi Direct (peer-to-peer) technology to connect devices that are physically near each other. All communication happens directly between devices in your vicinity — there is no central server, no cloud infrastructure, and no internet connection required or used.

4. Data Sharing

We do not share any data with third parties because we do not collect any data to share. There are no advertising partners, analytics providers, or data brokers involved in the operation of OnBored.

5. Analytics and Tracking

OnBored contains no analytics SDK, no crash reporting tool, no advertising framework, and no tracking technology of any kind. We have no visibility into how you use the app.

6. Children's Privacy

OnBored does not collect personal data from anyone, including children under the age of 13. The app is suitable for general audiences. Because no data is collected, there is no risk of children's data being stored or processed.

7. Permissions

OnBored requests the following device permissions:

None of the data accessed through these permissions is transmitted off your device.

8. Data Retention

Because we collect no data, there is nothing to retain. Any preferences you save locally (such as your display name) are stored only on your own device and can be cleared at any time by uninstalling the app.

9. Your Rights

Under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, you have rights including access, rectification, and erasure of your personal data. Since we hold no personal data about you, these rights are satisfied by default. If you have any concerns, contact us at privacy@onbored.com.

10. Security

Because OnBored operates entirely offline and peer-to-peer, there is no central database that could be breached. Communications are ephemeral and exist only in device memory during an active session.

11. Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will update the date at the top of this page and publish the updated version at onbored.com/privacy. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
